Meditation for 06/04/2019

“And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it ill be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it.” (Isaiah35:8)

Holiness and cleansing from sins cannot be separated. The Way of Holiness is so called because it leads to Zion, the holy place.

Those who want to travel on God’s highway of holiness will have to be clean from sin. To save His people, God promised to prepare a holy highway on which only His holy, pure people can walk as He leads them.

Abba, we try to walk Your highway every day. Some days we are successful and some days we “miss the mark.” Yet, we strive to walk the straight and narrow path that leads us to You. We seek to be the kind of people that honor you not just in words, but also in the way we live out our daily lives. Walk with us, Abba, and if we falter, help us to get back up and on Your path. This we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen

Thoughtfulness is to friendship as sunshine is to a garden.

“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you form all your impurities and from all your idols. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will resettle your towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt.” (Ezekiel36:25, 33)

Beloved, God is determined to cleanse His people from their sins. He provided a new covenant in which His people will be cleansed from all impurities, idols, and sins. This cleansing is full y accomplished only Christ.

Salvation, As Cleansing: (Jeremiah33:8)

God cleanses His people from guilt and rebellion. Forgiveness accompanies His cleansing. The doctrine of salvation teaches that God does not give up on His people when they go astray. This lesson is one we all need to understand and cling to in our faith.

Second Thought of the Day:

“How much more then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts hat lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!” (Hebrews9:14)

The Holy Spirit empowered and guided Jesus to offer His life as a sacrifice to God to take away our sins. The Spirit guided and empowered Jesus throughout His public ministry.

The death of Christ on the cross cleanses our consciences from dead works. The wrong way to salvation and the guilt blocking us from God are thus removed.
