Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him. For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.” (Genesis18:18-19)

God created His people to be a blessing for others. The evangelistic call has always been central so the identity of God’s people.

Through Abraham’s seed came the promised Savior, Jesus Christ. He lived out Israel’s calling. In Him all the nations shall be blessed. Blessing is a result of salvation.

Precious Abba, Abraham found God’s favor, because of his strong faith and that his family were obedient to their Father in heaven and to their earthly father. Abraham promised to raise his family and whole household in the way of the Lord and that they would also serve God. Out of Abram’s see, came Jesus Christ, and in this we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Faithfulness is God’s requirement…fruitfulness is His reward…

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heart. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course.” (Psalm19:15)

God’s great deeds and judgments are known everywhere. There is an innate awareness in everyone that God is just and is to be sought (Romans 1:20). People can see the results of God’s great redemptive deeds all around them. This fact forms a basis for appeal and creates and openness for people to received God’s salvation for themselves. In most instances, believers can assume this when they witness for Christ.

For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you? Indeed, you are our glory and joy.” (1st Thessalonians 2:19-20)

From the believer’s perspective, the greatest part of Christ’s final coming will be people led to Christ through our testimony. Saved people are the fruit and reward of faithful evangelism. Seeing people saved is the joy and glory of those who faithfully witness—in this life and the next!

Second Thought of the Day:

Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. (Matthew10:32-33

Those who acknowledge Christ before others will be acknowledged by Him to the Father. Jesus expects disciples to make their faith public knowledge. Beloved, witnessing reveals our relationship to Christ Jesus.

Christ left no place for secret disciples. Faith confesses our faith publicly and gains eternal rewards. Without the genuine faith that causes people to witness, we cannot expect God’s gracious rewards. Understand?
