Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, and he blessed Abram, saying, ‘Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And blessed be God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand.’ then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.” (Genesis14:18-20)

Blessing I God’s constant provision of daily needs through His invisible presence in our lives. Prayer for blessing is a recognition of God as the provider of good, health, work, and all other available resources.

Worship involves asking God for blessing, acknowledging His blessing, and blessing Him or praising Him for being the Source of blessing.


Precious Abba, Your greatest gift to us, has been Your blessing upon us, in spite of our many shortcomings. One might think that this could not be topped, but then You sent Your Son, our Savior, to come into this world to experience every level of human life, both good and bad, and ultimately to allow Him to give His life on the cross, that no further offering or sacrifice was necessary, as He became the sacrifice for all mankind in the past, the present and the future. It is in His name we pray. Amen


Sinners believe in good luck, Christians believe in The Good Lord.


Also, the royal officials have come to congratulate our lord King David, saying, ‘May your God make Solomon’s name more famous than yours and his throne greater than yours and his throne greater than yours! And the king bowed in worship on his bed and said, ‘Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who has allowed my eyes to see a successor on my throne today.’” (1st Kings 1:4748)

The royal servants congratulated (Hebrew – barak, “Bless”) King David by wishing God’s direction on Solomon.

Such a blessing recognized David as the earthly source of the happy events and expressed appreciation o him as well as desire for God’s blessing on Solomon.


If anyone does not love the Lord—-a curse be on him. Com, O Lord! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. Amen.” (1st Corinthians16:22-24)

Paul placed everyone who did not love (Greek – phileo) Christ under curse (Greek – anathema). This meant they should be placed under sacred ban and totally destroyed.

Paul was not talking about pagan unbelievers. He wrote to the church. Devotion to Christ calls for intense love. Anything else is destructive for the church.


When he had led them out of he vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing hem, he let them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.” (Luke24:5051)

The resurrection marked Jesus’ victory over sin and death; thus, assuring the completion of God’s saving acts. The ascension is God’s final and confirming act on Jesus. Theologians speak of Jesus’ humiliation and His exaltation. The wonders of the virgin birth and the ascension bracketed Jesus’ earthly existence. The ascension is the only logically possible outcome of God’s greatest act in Jesus Christ, the resurrection.

The purpose of the ascension was to remove the glorified body of Christ out of earthly, physical limitations and to provide he appropriate context for Jesus’ homecoming in heaven. God’s sphere. There Jesus began His ministry for the church and prepared to return for the final judgment. Blessing was a characteristic of Jesus. His final blessing invoked God’s continued power on their daily ministry in His physical absence.
