“As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm—when he comes and prays toward this temple., then hear from heaven, your dwelling place, and do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name.” (2nd Chronicles6:32-33)
God’s mighty historical acts served as an invitation to foreigners to join Israel in the worship of the one true God. Regardless of race, color, ethnic origin, or any human difference, all people are to hear our word of witness. God loves all and wants to include in His kingdom all who will turn to Him. They will hear of God’s “great Name” and be drawn to Him.
We will be drawn to Him as we personally share Jesus Christ with them. Then we are to include them in the family of God and accept them as brothers and sisters. Personal witnessing to all is essential to vital evangelism.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:
Precious Abba, in many ways, we have become more isolationists from some countries, and we need to reform our laws about those whom seek to live in our country but are not allowed in. We must, welcome the, so they may enter and become part of our country, working and becoming productive members of our society, paying taxes and making a way to prosper in this country, that they want to become part of. Guide us, Abba, to help those presenting themselves for entry, that we all can become closer to us in Christ Jesus , as we also become neighbors and co-workers. For it is in Jesus precious name that we pray this. Amen
THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
“Beloved, worry about nothing, pray about everything!”
KNOWING GOD:
“’You are my witnesses, declares the Lord, and declares the servant whom I have chosen, so tht you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior. I have revealed and said and proclaimed—I, and not some foreign god among you. Your are my witnesses, declares the Lord, ‘that I am God. Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can revere it.’” (Isaiah43:10–13)
Witnesses declare what God has done. Effective witnesses need to e knowledgeable of the mighty act of God in history—and in the contemporary moment also. This requires study and sensitivity to all. God has revealed in His Word, in history, and in one’s daily life. Witnesses take up the role of God’s servant.
Witnesses believe in, obey, and worship God. They share what they have experienced with all who do not know God. They want everyone in the world to let the true God be their Savior and to commit their lives to Him. Witnessing is the believer’s essential task.
I AM:
“I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. ” (Philemon1:6)
Paul wanted Philemon to be active in sharing his faith. In that way he would mature in the faith and deepen as a believer. To do personal evangelism is a great strength to one’s own personal faith as well as a means to lead others into the faith.
SECOND THOUGHT of the DAY:
“He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.” (John1:7-9)
John demonstrated personal witnessing. Despite his own power and popularity, he pointed people to Christ and away from himself. He sought to bring people to believe in Christ.
John knew that Jesus was the true Light providing knowledge and salvation that God promised to the world. He was the Creator come to be with His beloved creatures. H brought saving power to all who believe in His nature and purpose (His name). Most people have rejected His revelation. All who believe and respond become part of he family of God adopted in love and grace.
