Meditation

He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. (Acts 15:3)

Our own redemption puts a new song in our mouths, beloved. Out of hearts of gratitude and love for God, we share our own personal witness of His grace, mercy and forgiveness.

The consequence is, many will “see and fear” and come to trust Jesus Christ. Our testimony shared in and with love is powerful in winning others over to Him.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY:

Precious Abba, Like a cup that is being filled, when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, the cup runs over and we are filled with the Holy Spirit. Abba, every day is not always a great day, but when we allow You to enter our lives, every day is a day filled with the knowledge that You are always with us and care for us. Let us reach out to others, with the same love that we have received, and share Your love with them. Amen

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

Your self worth is more important that your net worth.

KNOWING GOD:

But when the Jews opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them, ‘Your blood be on your own heads! I am clear of my responsibility. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.’” (Acts 18:6)

Paul was obedient to His responsibility to evangelize, even if he was criticized and his gospel message rejected. He clearly spelled out the results of rejection. We must evangelize regardless of the response.

.Evangelization includes confronting people with the judgment they face without Christ Jesus.

I AM:

At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them. But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that though me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth.” (2nd Timothy4:16-17)

Paul prayed for and that it would not be held against them. Christ had taught that enemies should be prayed for without reservation.

Even if all people desert us, God will stand by us and strengthen us for the task of sharing Christ with others. He is able to deliver us and make our witness for Christ effective. Paul experienced God’s strength as he stood alone to face a pagan judge and to make the gospel known under very difficult circumstances.

SECOND THOUGHT of the DAY:

Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for me, I still had no peace of mind, because I did no find my brother Titus there. So I said goodbye to them and went on to Macedonia.” (2nd Corinthians2:1213)

Paul constantly stressed that doors for evangelism are opened by the Holy Spirit alone. To go ahead of God or lag behind will thwart the world of the Holy Spirit in opening people. To receive our testimony.

In order to have people receive our testimony, we must walk with God in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. If, when listening to someone preaching and you find your mind wandering, ask yourself if it because you were not ready to hear the message, or if the message was not delivered by one who is filled by the Holy Spirit.
