At that time Jesus said, ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.’ (Matthew11:25-26)

Jesus praised the Father for the way He worked. His prayers rejoiced in agreement with God the Father.

The worldly wise are likely to miss the wisdom of faith. Jesus was fully aware of His unique relationship to the Father. He alone could introduce people to the Father’s true nature, for He alone shared fully in intimate personal relationship with the Father. To know the Father we must know the Son.

Precious Abba, You and Your Son shared a very close relationship with each other, and in this example by Jesus, He noted a relationship that is available to us all. He did this to reveal to the everyday people that if they are tired and heavy laden, they can find rest and a lighter load, by establishing our relationship with Himself. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen

You have to wonder about human beings, who think God is dead and Elvis is alive!

Immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. After leaving them, he went up on a mountainside to pray” (Mark6:45-46)

Jesus went along to pray. The Greek text emphasizes solitariness by the use of the phrase, He withdrew by Himself alone.” I also think it is important to understand that the closeness of He and the Father’s relationship, it was important for Him to pour out His feelings on what He had seen and personally witnessed of the people He was taking the salvation message to and how it was received.

Often Jesus would take his disciples aside to teach them something or clarify something He had already done. It was, however, not uncommon for Him to move away from everyone to pray, to regain His strength, to talk with the Father and to gain direction from God as to His next teaching and where best to go first.

At daybreak Jesus went out to a solitary place. The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. But he said, ‘I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” (Luke4:42-43)

Jesus was treated the same way every town or village that He entered, the people always sought to keep him there longer, which revealed just how good His preaching and teaching really was. He also used healings, and people would bring family and friends to Him for the purpose of healing them of their affliction, what ever it was.

One thing I believe we all need to understand, that often gets overlooked, is that every morning, He would go out away from everybody to pray to and with the Father. I would say that if Jesus felt it was necessary to do this every day, then we ought to follow the model of our Lord and Savior. You may not have a prayer kneeler, but you have a closet you can put a chair into to pray to God, before you begin your day. Maybe you have a favorite chair and like me, you arise earlier than everyone else, so you could use that as your place to pray or even a back porch.

Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.” (John 6:15)

Once again, we see that Jesus like to get up early and move away from all people. I suspect He was quite often inundated by people wanting Him to do something for them, but they were missing the point of His moving away to be alone with the father.

Jesus had just fed the 5,,000 people with two fish and five barley loaves. Jesus already knew what He was going to do and it was going to be impressive. Keep in mind, the total number of people does not include children and women, so it could easily have been a couple of thousand more. The point is, He took what there was, blessed it, and sent everyone out to feed the people, and of course, there were baskets full left over. Someone said he is the Prophet who is to come into the world. Jesus knew immediately they would try and force him to become a king, but it was not time yet. Do people look at you and say, He is a follower of Jesus Christ! Is it because they see you living your life after the model Jesus left us? If not, what is it you need to do to emulate His model?
