Meditation

Israel has sinned; they have violated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep They have taken some of the devoted things they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with their own possessions. That is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies; they turn their backs and run because they have been made liable to destruction. I will not be with you among you is devoted to destruction.” (Exodus 4:10-12)

Revealing Himself as the God of constructive purposes, God reminded Joshua and Israel hat He does not associate with anything outside His nature or will. He therefore left Israel when Israel left His will and returned only when they returned to His will. Those who leave God’s plans to pursue their own poor choices cannot expect God’s presence in their lives.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY:

Precious Abba, we are to be as true to God, as He always has been with us. He loves us more than we can comprehend, but He will not abide for people who refuse to listen and follow His commandments. He will do more for us that we deserve, but if we fall away from Him and pursue others gods or our own way, He will not even look at us, as He moves away from us. He talks about our coming back to Him, but we must do so in humble repentance, seeking His forgiveness for our sins. It is in this that we praise Jesus’ precious name and that we pray Your will is done. Amen

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

A person is never so empty as when they are full of self.”

KNOWING GOD:

Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with David but had left Saul. So he sent David away from him and gave him command over a thousand men, and David led the troops in their campaigns. In everything he did he had great success, because the Lord was with him.” (Psalm 11:4-7)

Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with David and not himself. He was not with the Lord, because since becoming king, he felt capable to handle any problem, therefore he forgot the most important part of being in relationship with God, you have to trust Him and not yourself. He came to hate David for have the same relationship with God that he had once enjoyed, but only in the end of his reign, did he really understand why.

The appearance and success of David were in direct proportion to his obedience to God’s intentions. God’s presence provided success. As Saul continued to move away from God’s direction, sensed God’s absence. We know God’s presence as we obey Him and His absence when we do not obey Him.

I AM:

He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and he constellations of the south. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted. When he passes me, I cannot see him; when he goes by, I cannot perceived him.” (Job 9:9-11)

Revelation deals with the mystery of God. The Revealer is at the same time the unknown Mystery which is not fully understood. Biblical revelation repeatedly describes this tension between making revelation the tension between making things clear and keeping some mystery at the center of God’s revelation to us. The purpose of the mystery is double: to make sure that we never assume we may control God by knowing Him fully and to remind us that we never can fully grasp all that God is.

SECOND THOUGHT of the DAY:

The Lord said to my Lord: ‘Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet.’” (Matthew 22:44)

The fact that Jesus was so often addressed as ‘Teacher,’ even by His opponents, reveals that this was His primary role in the eyes of the people around Him. So of David applied to Jesus was inadequate to describe the Messiah’s role since Messiah was David’s master, as per Psalm 110:1 reveals. Messiah was Son of God and provided salvation through death and resurrection, not through military victory. Clear?
