The Angel of the Lord went up from Gilgal to Bokim and said, ‘I brought you up out of Egypt and let you into the land that I swore to give to your forefathers. ‘I said, ‘I will never break my covenant with you, and you shall not make a covenant with the people of this land, but you shall break down their altars.’ Yet you have disobeyed me. Why have you done this? Now therefore I tell you that I will not drive them out before you; they will be a thorn, in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you.” (Judges 2:1-3)

God’s covenant people must obey the commands and stipulations of the covenant. If he covenant is not obeyed, it ceases to be a covenant. Therefore, if God’s people are to remain a covenant people, they must obey and abide the commands and stipulations of the covenant.

Don’t you know one person probably said, “God thinks we are stupid, that He has to repeat this to us.” God does not consider us stupid, but He does know that we tend to “pick and choose” the covenants we adhere to. God also pointed out pointedly by saying, “ I will never break my covenant with you.”

Precious Abba, You never break a promise with us, but we are not so good at returning that with the agreements (covenants) that we make with You. There was a time, certainly in the United States, whereby parties in an agreement would simply shake hands, and no paperwork was ever done. The handshake symbolized our commitment to all parties in a deal, that you would make good on your word. Today, we see people from all walks of life that have signed contracts to perform or delivers services, and do not consider it worthy of fulfilling. Bring us back, Abba, whereby our word is good as a contract, and that we will fulfill our covenant with You, as we have already agreed to do it. It is for this reason, that we pray Your will is done, Abba. Amen

Jesus is the Potter, We are only His clay.”

Then the angel who was speaking to him and said to him: ‘Run, tell that young man, Jerusalem will be a city with out walls, because of the great number of men and livestock in it. And I myself will be a wall of fire around it, declares the Lord, and I will be its glory.’” (Zechariah 2:3-5)

Divine messengers from God appear throughout the Old Testament and are either human beings sent on special mission, or mysterious beings of a superhuman nature who represent God. The latter take on a human form so they might be recognizable. The angel announced the revelation of God’s glory, the weightiness of His manifestation to Jerusalem. God’s presence is also protection for Jerusalem.

Then the angel said to me, ‘Write: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb! And he added,’These are the true words of God.’ At this I fell at his feet to worship Him. But he said to me,’ do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.’” (Revelation 19:9-10)

The messengers of God revealed the true words of God about the future. They declared as fortunate all those who are invited to Christ’s wedding supper (salvation feast). The early church was confused about the disclosures of this book, unsure as to whether the predictions referred to the immediate situation in Israel then and the fall of Jerusalem which took placed in 70 AD, or whether the description was for the end of all time. Scholars continue to differ on which passages reveal which. One thing is clear: the revelation affirms that God is in control over all, and that His children, as believes, are to be saved into life eternal by the power of Jesus Christ alone. Only God deserves our worship, angels do not.

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:20-21)

Before laying down to go to sleep, Joseph was confused and bewildered about Mary, who was to be his wife, and yet she was pregnant. There were options in those days, but the best one was simply to refuse to marry her due to her pregnancy, and disgrace he and the worst was to have her stoned to death. Messengers from God appeared to Joseph in a dream. The troubled Joseph heard the revelation concerning the unborn Child and its source in the Holy Spirit of God, relieving his fears completely. Beloved, so many times we go to bed with something on our hearts, and seem to forget to take it to the Lord in prayers. God knew well before Joseph was even in the picture, that whomever married Mary, would have to deal with this serious issue, and so He sent His angels in a dream, to give Joseph peace of mind and body, that because she received this child by the Holy Spirit, every thing would work out just fine. How about you, do you toss and turn at night over things you are worried or scared about? Why are you not taking this to the Lord???.
