Meditation

Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and he birds of the air, over he livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed em and said o them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of he sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.’” (Genesis 1:26-28)

The creation of human beings was God’s crowning work. He bestowed upon them the unique characteristics of God, by making them “tseleni” (likeness image of same). Thus man and woman reflect and reveal the Creator’s characteristics. God took control of creation ( His own refection and reveal the creation (from void to order and from (v21). Likewise He created humans to take an unfinished and untamed creation and direct and subdue it as God would.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY:

Precious Abba, in some areas we have made progress in controlling Your creation, while others we have failed miserably to control anything. We depend upon Your Spirit to guide us in the right direction and in the same manner as You would go to care for Your creation. In many ways, we have totally forgotten creation at all, leaving waste and trash behind to harm animals, birds and fish, to get caught up in, which You would never do. In Your love and mercy Abba, guide our pathways each day, to ensure that we are following Your will and walking in your footsteps as best as we can. Help us to be Your righteous children every day, and not to embarrass You, ever. For it is in Your precious name we pray. Amen

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

There is no reward from God, to those who seek it from man.”

KNOWING GOD:

When she heard in Moab that the Lord had come to the aid of his people by providing food for them, Naomi and her daughter-in-law prepared to return home from there.” (Ruth 1:6)

God reveals Himself by providing human needs such as food. God’s people confess that God is active through the natural orders of creation to reveal His loving care.

I AM:

He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.” (James 1:18)

Beloved, God chose to give us life. He provided true spiritual life by the revelation of purpose and life in the gospel. He wants us to become the finest offering to God, models of life as God intended it in verse 21 (Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is as prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.).

SECOND THOUGHT of the DAY:

Jesus replied, ‘You may go. Your son will live.’ The man took Jesus at his word and departed. While he was still on the way, he servants met him with the news that his boy was living. When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, ‘The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour.’ Then the father realized that this the exact time at which Jesus had said o him, ‘Your son will live.’ So he and all his household believed. This was the second miraculous sign that Jesus performed, having come from Judea to Galilee.” (John 4:50-54)

Jesus is the Author and Sustainer of life with the Father and has power over life and death. Faith was sufficient to gain the gift of life restored. John arranged his gospel around seven major signs. Each sign reveals a unique feature of Jesus as the Messiah and Savior. Together they seek to lead readers to life-giving faith in Christ.

Miracles or signs should not be necessary for faith, but an serve as an evangelistic tool leading people to faith. Jesus was upset because the people would not believe without miracles. The royal official needed only Christ’s word to believe.
