Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, ‘These are the things the Lord has commanded you to do: For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your hold day, a Sabbath of rest to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death. Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.’” (Exodus 35:1-3)

Once each week a significant day called Israel to remember God in His holiness. They were to fill the seventh day with significance through rest while they filled the other six with meaningful work. In so doing they imitated God’s fist acts in universal history.

Precious Abba, by Your telling Moses this command, it carried weight with the people, for Moses went immediately told the people that you commanded them to work six days, and then take a day off to rest and to remember all that You accomplished in six days, for their benefit. It is in Christ Jesus’ name that we pray. Amen

Make God Your First Priority, Never Your Last Resort.”

In the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses proclaimed to the Israelites all that the Lord had commanded him concerning them.” (Deuteronomy 3:1)

Israel’s salvation was dateable. God’s commands and saving acts gave meaning to time. God’s warnings had time conditions which He took seriously and fulfilled. The disobedient people had to spend forty years in the wilderness before hearing the command to conquer.

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that tithes of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may sent the Christ, who has been appointed for you—-even Jesus. He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.” (Acts 3:19-21)

History for God’s people should be refreshing, meaningful time. Such joy and meaning will be fully realized when Christ returns at the time the Father chooses to fulfill all His promises.

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, not the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. I’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. Therefore keep watch because do not know when the owner of the house will come back—-whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows or at dawn.” (Mark 13:32-35)

Decisive moments stand out in history as times of crisis and opportunity. The end of chronological history as we know it now it is such a decisive moment. That moment in time will introduce the final events of judgment and the eternal reign of Christ with His saints. No human has the power or means to determine the date of that decisive moment. God alone determines and knows the time of the end.

So, this begs the question of each one of you. Are you ready for the end times? Have you accepted God through His Son, our Lord and Savior? The end times have their own share of hard times for all of us, but for those who have taken Christ as their Savior, we can survive it. We will survive it, but if our faith is in someone who only talks about good times and prosperity, you are in big, big trouble. You are not prepared. Have you read Revelations? Then read it and find you a preacher who will prepare you for the end. I know people who expect to enter the kingdom, but have never studied the Bible. It is God’s Word, that prepares us. No one, no on, knows when Jesus returns except the Father. Many have tried to predict the when and failed miserably. God gave us the Word, to help us prepare, as He desires all to be with Him in the kingdom.
