“I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed: ‘O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with all who love him and obey his commands.’” (Daniel 9:4)
God is awesome and loving. His people are to have a reverential fer of Him and love him, as He loves us. His faithful covenant love evokes the obedient love of His people. Love of God is a proper response to salvation.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:
Precious Abba, You sought us to be Your people, and have taught us much. Still we did not act like we should have, and You sent Jesus to give us a live example of how we are to live, and He also taught us and continues to daily in the New Testament, the new covenant between us, that we are to live our lives in such a manner, that others will seek out what we have and that they do not have in their lives. You have given us the tools to share the salvation message, and we seek Your Spirit within us, to guide us to all those who have not heard the message before or didn’t understand it, that by so doing,, we can enlarge Your people. This we pray. Amen
THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
“If you’re looking for a sign from God to get back to church, this is it!”
“But the man who loves God is known by God.” (1st Corinthians 8:3)
God knows those who love Him. You can say it a million times, but if isn’t in your heart, God will know it. Many times Jesus would encounter someone and is was said that He loved them. My personal opinion, is that He looked at their heart, just as God does, and knew how much they loved Him. This is how we are to look upon others beloved; not in judgment but in love. Learn to look at people’s eyes as it is a window to their soul. You will begin to see their hurts, their blessings, and their needs. Then, we are to respond to their needs. Understand?
“Listen my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?” (James 2:5)
God has promised His kingdom to those who love Him. In Matthew 5:3 we hear the heart and will of God taught as never before. Inspired witnesses preserved for us the teaching of the Son of God. These inspired words wee collected by the disciples, taught to the early church, and fathered up to become an ongoing record of God’s revelation about who His is, what He commands, and what He promises. God led Matthew to preserve Christ’s Sermon on the Mount to teach us the essence of the Christian life.
SECOND THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
“We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does no love his brother or sister, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother and sister.” (1st John 4:19-21)
A liar says he loves God while hating another person/s. A person who loves God loves other people. Those are John’s blunt, inspired conclusions. Every professing Christian needs to hear and consider them. Christ conversion leads us to love others.
God’s love is the source of our love. Those who say they love God whom they have not seen, but hate their brothers and sisters whom they have seen, are liars. One of God’s commands is that those who love Him love their brothers and sisters also.
