“Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.” (Daniel 12:3 – Rewards Promised)
Witnessing is wise. When we lead someone to faith in Jesus Christ, eternal rewards are promised. We shall shine as the stars forever. All of that is for the glory of God. It is wise to share one’s faith with others—-eternity will record the effort.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:
Precious Abba, we each have a story to share with others, concerning our acceptance of You through Your Son Jesus. It is our responsibility to share our story with as many other people as we can, because Jesus asked us to increase the kingdom of God and the only way to do that is to reveal your story to people who have not had the experience in their own lives. Today we continue to pray troops serving in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, that a peaceful solution might be found and let the fighting be silenced. We also pray for those who are suffering in body, mind, and/or spirit, with friends, family, for those we don’t know. Amen
THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
“If you can’t have what you like, like what you have.”
“The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” (Proverbs 4:18 – Righteousness)
Relationship with God promises a clearer sense of the way to go in life as God provides light for that life. The righteous person is one on God’s pathway of life.
“‘I tell you the truth, Jesus replied, ‘ no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to received a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—-and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life. But many who are first will be last and the last first.” (Mark 10:29-31 – Rewards)
Seeking God’s eternal rewards is not wrong. It is a legitimate motive to evangelize. Serving Christ faithfully often involves sacrifices and self-denial. Our Lord promises that the abundance of the reward will outshine any sacrifice we make o win others to Christ (Romans 8:18). If we do not serve Jesus selflessly, we may be the “first” that shall be “last” as our Lord warned us.
2ND THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” (Matthew 25:46 – Eternal Life Rewarded)
Those who have been made right with God through faith in Christ, and who reflect this as they live by God’s standards, will live forever with God in heaven. Those who are not and do not, will experience the eternal punishment of hell. Eternal life begins here, as we live out God’s quality of life among those for whom God cares especially, His children.
Listen closely, beloved. There are people who are unable to travel around the world, around the United States, around your own state, around the city and some who cannot make it down the block to witness to the glory of God through faith in Jesus Christ, but they write letters, they call people on their phone and/or talk with people who come to see them about their faith and they are (when God’s time for them is up) headed into the kingdom of God for their faith and perseverance. There are those who praise God on Sunday and then walk out of church and lead a different life-style, and they will be surprised which line they are in, for doing nothing to lead others to Christ. God loves us all, but all will not get into the kingdom for their lack of faith. It’s not how much you do, it is not about “chalking up another Christian” and thinking it is for us, it is for the glory of God alone.
