“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.” (Psalm 67:1-2)
God’s saving power is for all people. Redemption is universal, available to all who will respond to the gospel in repentance and faith. All nations should hear of God’s way of salvation.
He is gracious and makes His face shine on His people. Revived and blessed, His people then become the agents to carry the gospel to all. We need constant spiritual renewal to take the Word of redemption to all nations.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:
Precious Abba, way too often, people see you as a God of anger. Though you have angered before, due to Your people’s failure to repent, You would much more delight in revealing Your grace and mercy, when those who have sinned, seek You out to repent of their sins and seek Your grace and mercy, to restore their relationship with You. We lift up our sins to You this day, seeking Your grace and mercy and forgiveness of that which we are not proud of, that You will forgives us and we can once more enjoy our relationship with You. This we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
“When God threw our sins in the ‘Sea of Forgetfulness,’ He posted a ‘No fishing sign.’”
KNOWING GOD:
“Therefore strong peoples will honor you; cities of ruthless nations will revere you.” (Isaiah25:3)
When the gospel is proclaimed, even strong and ruthless people are brought to surrender and to believe, thus fearing the Lord. The glorious salvation of God completely transforms lives.
I AM:
“The Lord will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.” (Isaiah 52:10)
As God reveals His mighty acts and people come to realize who He is and what He does, they cry out to God for salvation. Evangelism, therefore, is to share the mighty acts of God in redemption that all the ends of he earth will see and turn to Him. For the prophet’s audience, God’s great act was the return from Exile. For Christians, it is Christ’s ministry, death, and resurrection, bringing us salvation.
Second Thought of the Day:
“For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.” (Luke 2:30–32)
Salvation resides in the person of Jesus Christ (1st John 5:11-12). The fortunate ones who saw Him in the flesh saw God’s salvation. We can see Him with the eyes of faith and invite others to join us.
Beloved, He stands as our only hope of eternal life. Every race, color, culture, and language group are welcomed by Christ and His witnesses. Christ has provided salvation. We announce its availability to all people.
