He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.;” (Acts 1:7)

Jesus ascribed to God the ultimate authority—-only he knows some things. Humans cannot know when the end of all thing will come. In Matthew 24:36 Jesus declared that not even the incarnate Son of God on earth knew the time of His second coming. God is in control of His world with a sovereignty that is not shared with any except by His own will. We do not need this information, so we should not worry about it. We do need the knowledge, so we should not witness, and we need to use our time witnessing.

Precious Abba, You do not want us to sit around and worry when the end if coming; rather, You want us to use our time witnessing to those who do not know You yet, to tell this of Your grace, mercy, and love for us is more than we can even imagine. Jesus knows He will return, but even He does not know the when, only the how. It is in this that we praise Jesus’ precious name and that we pray Your will is done. Amen

Don’t sacrifice the eternal on the altar of the immediate.”

Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!; And he added, ‘These are the true words of God.’ At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, ‘Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Revelation 19:9-10)

Here the messengers of God reveled the true words of God about the future. They declared as fortunate all those who are invited to Christ’s wedding supper (salvation feast). The early church was very confused about the disclosures of this book, unsure as to whether the predictions referred to the immediate situation in Israel hen and the fall of Jerusalem which took place in 70 AD, or whether the description was for he end of all time. Scholars still differ today on which passages reveal which. One thing is certain, the revelation affirms that God is in control over all and that His children, as believers, are to be saved into life eternal by the power of Jesus Christ. Only God deserves worship. Angels do not.

Beloved we are mere human beings, deserving no reverence. Nor do angels themselves deserve such. We worship and revere God alone and bear testimony to Him and His holy glory and redemptive grace. Yet goes out to needy world as the real spirit of proclamation. Share it for God’s glory and the salvation of others.,

Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning. Like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master find them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. It will be goof for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of he night.” (Luke 12:35-38)

Once again, the thought is that we must be ready for when the master returns, whether it is God or Jesus. We must remain prepared for the return, no matter when it takes place. There is even mention of a second or third watch, so it could be at a time when normally, we would be asleep. Live your lives in a righteous manner, and be prepared for the knock on the door, no matter when it occurs.

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, p to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is, how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. ‘Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But to understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” (Matthew 24:36-44)

The text warns us against about the time of Christ’s return and cautions believers that not knowing the time of His return that not knowing the time of His return demands we stay ever prepared, ever vigilent about the time of Chris’s return. Every few years, someone will claim they have figured out the time of the return. People of the world get caught up in waiting for Christ’s return, while Christians simply go about their business and continue to proclaim Christ and that we must remain prepared for His return.

In their unpreparedness, people will be going about the normal activities of life when the unexpected overtakes them. The good servant is prepared for the Lord a any time. Watchfulness and readiness are critical aspects of preparing for the last days, for no one knows when Christ’s reign and coming will take place, no one at all.
